About the Role
Provide ongoing operational support for the Grid Resiliency portfolio and manage Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) application builds in Palantir Foundry. Develop high-quality, modular, and reusable software code using Foundry Code Repositories and Function Repositories, while ensuring compliance with PSPS wildfire and CPUC operational guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality, modular, and reusable software code in Foundry Code Repositories and Function Repositories.
- Implement reusable transform logic and shared libraries.
- Manage version control, branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
- Optimize code for Foundry distributed execution environments, applying best practices for maintainability, scalability, and long-term reuse.
- Implement and configure Palantir Foundry software solutions, including ETL pipelines, data workflows, and quality control processes.
- Maintain ontology governance, access control, and change management processes.
- Configure and integrate SaaS and public cloud-based PaaS solutions.
- Develop and support application components such as data marts, warehouses, middleware, dashboards, and analytics tools.
- Provide architectural governance expertise, including ontology design, DAG execution architecture, and pipeline standards.
- Collaborate with infrastructure providers to manage external and third-party application access.
- Develop and maintain Workshop applications, Quiver dashboards, automations, and pipeline builders.
- Support integrated enterprise service delivery across planning, development, deployment, and operations.
- Handle application maintenance, enhancements, break/fix support, patching, and new feature development.
- Document methodologies, operational processes, OLAs, RACIs, and governance standards.
- Support compute agents, hosting infrastructure, and Foundry operational services.
- Optimize resource utilization using Foundry Resource Management capabilities, analyzing compute consumption, storage usage, execution cost, and workload efficiency.
- Deliver agile application maintenance services aligned with DevOps methodologies.
- Drive continual application portfolio optimization and rationalization.
- Participate in on-call support and incident management, including root cause analysis and communication.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong software engineering experience with full-stack fundamentals and data platform expertise.
- Proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
- Experience designing and maintaining applications, with a focus on data pipeline architecture.
- Familiarity with Palantir Foundry and front-end design (Workshop preferred).
- Ability to work independently, own technical outcomes, and make architectural trade-off decisions.
- Experience with production support environments, incident communication, and decision-making under pressure.
- Strong stakeholder communication and complex workflow support experience.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience in Data Engineering or related fields.
- Strong Python skills with PySpark or Polars.
- Experience with Foundry Pipeline Builder and Data Connections.
- Knowledge of ontology design and object-based data modeling.
- Understanding of data lineage and impact analysis.
- Troubleshooting pipeline failures and performance bottlenecks.
- Ability to convert business logic into technical implementations.
- Utility industry or grid resiliency experience preferred.
