Responsibilities
- Handle both raw material and finished product, ensuring they meet acceptable criteria.
- Maintain accurate tracking and inventories of materials.
- Adequately stock raw materials for the production floor and coordinate trailer movements.
- Communicate with Transportation and Quality Assurance personnel to resolve issues.
- Ensure finished product inventory is available for sales order fulfillment and shipping order fulfillment.
- Process all incoming and outgoing loads of raw material and finished product.
- Accurately perform pallet counts and inspect pallets for damage.
- Notify plant management of any problems or errors promptly and effectively.
- Complete sales order fulfillment and other paperwork to ensure product availability.
- Follow procedures and safety practices to ensure quality of incoming and outbound products.
- Coordinate and assist Quality Assurance department in taking incoming quality measurements and sampling.
- Provide leadership as backup to supervisor.
- Communicate sequenced instructions to multiple parties.
- Drive a forklift to assist with loading and unloading.
- Process bills of lading for all loads and ensure proper sealing.
- Accurately maintain various spreadsheets and documents.
- Take accurate inventory of all items and process orders.
- Direct and monitor production employees to ensure adequate coverage.
- Train production employees and cover for breaks.
- Perform basic operational PM’s and inspections on equipment.
- Ensure smooth shift transitions and communicate related items to avoid interruptions.
- Coordinate and assist in all inbound and outbound dock activities.
- Inspect raw material trailers, including checking seals, recording set points, and temperatures.
- Perform verifications to confirm trailers are from approved suppliers.
- Perform core sampling tests as required.
- Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Basic math skills.
- General computer knowledge and proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Good memory skills.
- Ability to think clearly, communicate, and direct sequenced instructions to multiple parties.
- Demonstrated organizational and management skills.
- Ability to be self-directed with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask.
- Willingness to ask questions about unfamiliar tasks.
- Ability to lead, train, and direct people effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees in both written and verbal form.
- Regular and punctual attendance required.
Physical Requirements
- Walking, standing, twisting, reaching, bending, climbing, and lifting.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 60 lbs.
- Flexible working hours, including weekends.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year plant production experience or equivalent preferred.
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent, or verifiable ability to perform essential job functions.
