Producer, The Story with Martha MacCallum

The Story with Martha MacCallum is seeking a skilled, experienced, and eager Producer to join the team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a superb writer, and excels under pressure.

About the role

As a Producer on The Story, you will execute segment leads, write live scripts during breaking news, and conduct in-depth research. You will also serve as a backup to the Line Producer and Senior Producer on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Pitch guests, stories, and segment ideas
• Write guest intros, anchor questions, and teases
• Select elements such as sound, video clips, and graphics to tell a story
• Build accurate and constantly evolving research packets

Requirements

• Professional experience in a live television control room
• Strong and accurate writing skills
• Line producing training
• Thorough knowledge of current events and politics
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

Pay

$83,000.00–98,000.00 annually, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location.
