About the role
WTAE-TV, the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a News Producer who can create meaningful and memorable newscasts. The role requires creative vision, experience making decisions and communicating plans, ability to win big stories, own breaking news, and display important weather information. Accuracy is paramount. The producer will work in a fast‑paced environment with a team of pros, be available for holidays, nights, weekends, overnights, and flexible during breaking news.

Responsibilities
- Select, research, and write content for live newscasts
- Work with and guide reporters/anchors in story production
- Coordinate creative vision with team of anchors, reporters, meteorologists, photographers, editors, and production staff
- Booth assigned newscasts, breaking news and weather events
- Live timing newscasts
Requirements
- Professional or college producing experience
- Experience or working knowledge of a broadcast TV newsroom
- Writing and copy‑editing skills
- Ability to coordinate several crews and responsibilities simultaneously
- Experience summarizing information into easy‑to‑understand components
- Creative presentation style and ability to showcase all resources and elements
- Highest journalistic integrity and ethical standards
- Related military experience will be considered

Schedule
Must be available to work holidays, shifts including nights, weekends and overnights, and flexible with schedule to be available during breaking news.
