Responsibilities

  • Initiates, qualifies, and develops new business relationships with prospects.
  • Maintains and grows an assigned book of business.
  • Maintains relationships with key client contacts.
  • Meets key metrics including revenue and number of prospects in pipeline, meetings per month, and closed sales.
  • Works collaboratively with the Account Management team to close business.
  • Develops sales proposals and presentations that align with NFP standards.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on various sources.
  • Convenes with management to set and achieve integrated selling targets.
  • Develops and increases sales for assigned book of business and/or territory/industry sector.
  • Reviews sales results for assigned clients, strategizing changes and troubleshooting problems.
  • Begins to build relationships with key prospect and client stakeholders.
  • Exercises independent judgment subject to general supervisor support.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate (or equivalent)
  • BA/BS preferred
  • More than 3 years of directly related industry experience
  • Insurance Broker's license required representing the coverages being sold

  • Knowledge of benefits administration, Healthcare Reform, industry trends, carrier products and services
  • Effective time management and decision-making skills
  • Diligent follow-up skills
  • Clear communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Commanding presentation and public speaking abilities

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $55,000 – $91,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
