Produce Sales Associate

Responsibilities

• Keep the produce department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demands.
• Greet and smile at customers, answer questions, handle special requests (e.g., fruit baskets), and resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
• Unpack cartons and crates of merchandise, clean and trim produce, and stock the area with new merchandise.
• Ensure merchandise is in saleable condition by rotating stock to maintain freshness and proper pricing with correct signage.
• Maintain the salad bar and cut fruit/vegetable as needed.
• Assist in building attractive displays and accurately complete necessary product logs.
• Handle spoiled and damaged product, new items, and discontinued items according to company policy.
• Perform general sanitation duties, including following cleaning schedules and maintaining work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases to meet health and OSHA requirements.
• Dispose of trash properly and assist in minimizing shrink and controlling damages by reporting shortages and overages to management.
• Assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries using a power jack or hand jack if properly trained (training provided).
• Assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if properly trained (training provided).
• Ensure smooth department and store function by cooperating with coworkers and superiors and continuously improving job performance.
• Utilize all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
• Assist in other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Completed or working toward a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• No prior experience required.
