Responsibilities

Aid the Category Manager in executing annual and seasonal category strategies.

Ensure item files are accurate and updated to support category and store positioning strategies.

Contribute to variance reports for the Category Manager to utilize in report creation.

Create and manage assortments for assigned departments and align with store positioning strategies.

Maintain and monitor sales figures and key activities to ensure appropriate inventory levels.

Complete the order process from purchase order creation to delivery.

Submit accurate item setup sheets to Data Entry promptly.

Manage and oversee core item assortments by adding and removing products as directed.

Handle inventory issues for assigned department groups.

Maintain budgeted inventory levels and perform necessary item maintenance.

In collaboration with the Category Manager, develop advertising and merchandising activities to achieve targeted results.

Qualifications

  • Previous retail and/or procurement experience preferred
  • Undergraduate degree in business or related field preferred but not required
  • Extensive MS Office Suite experience, including advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities
  • Aptitude for successful negotiations
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet both Category and Company goals and deadlines
