About the role

Produce Clerks at Woodlands Market are responsible for the proper stocking and rotation of merchandise while providing exceptional customer service. Duties include sampling products to customers and employees, offering relevant product information like recipe ideas, where the product was grown, and best times to eat the product. They also help customers locate products in the produce section and throughout the store, picking fruits at the right ripeness levels based on customer needs, and rotating stock to maintain freshness and minimize waste.

Responsibilities

• Sample products to customers and employees, providing relevant product information
• Help customers locate products in the produce section and the rest of the store
• Pick fruits at the appropriate ripeness levels based on customer consumption timing
• Rotate stock to maximize freshness and minimize waste
• Maintain a clean, inviting, and safe produce department

Requirements

• Effective customer service skills (including service orientation)
• In-depth knowledge of produce
• Able to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks concurrently
• Excellent verbal and customer service skills
• Ability to freely access all areas of the store, including the selling floor, stock area, and register area
• Ability to work varied hours and days as dictated by business needs
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to perform tasks involving repeated lifting, bending, and twisting

Pay

The pay range for this position is $20-$21 per hour.
