About the role

The Produce Clerk is responsible for performing duties as directed by the Produce Manager and/or Assistant Produce Manager to ensure the successful operation of the Produce Department. You will maintain high standards of customer service, present yourself professionally, and comply with all company policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, wrap, and weigh all produce products
• Maintain a professional and organized display of products
• Restock counters on the sales floor and remove poor-quality produce
• Ensure proper rotation of product
• Assist in receiving and unloading product
• Ensure all products have their proper signs
• Maintain a safe and sanitary department environment
• Be present at your workstation at the start of your shift
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Adhere to the Customer Service Pledge at all times
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and strictly adhere to the Dress Code policy
• Ensure attendance as it is essential to department function
• Comply with all policies in the Employee Handbook

Requirements

• Ability to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word
• Proficiency in reading, writing, analyzing, and interpreting English
• Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and ability to taste or smell
• Regular use of hands and digits to reach, manipulate objects, and adjust focus for close and distant vision, including color vision
• No minimum educational requirement
• Ability to calculate figures, amounts, discounts, and percentages
• Ability to lift, bend, and twist up to 80 pounds
• Must be at least 16 years old
