Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

• Handle stressful situations effectively
• Communicate clearly and effectively
• Manage inventory and maintain product quality
• Answer customer questions and provide recommendations
• Prepare and display produce platters/trays
• Monitor and report on product ordering/shipping discrepancies
• Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
• Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults

Requirements

• Minimum ability to handle stressful situations
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Current food handlers permit
• Desired comparable retail experience
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
• Ability to work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments
• Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational and cooperative manner
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues

Qualifications

• Positive attitude
• Ability to stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
• Adequate preparation, packaging, labeling and inventorying merchandise
• Ability to report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Ability to reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions
• Ability to notify management of customer or employee accidents
• Ability to report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud to store management
