About the role
Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Handle stressful situations effectively
- Communicate clearly and effectively
- Manage inventory and stock products
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide recommendations
- Prepare and package produce platters/trays
- Monitor and maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers
- Inspect and report on product quality and freshness
- Follow safety procedures and report any issues
- Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults
Requirements
- Minimum ability to handle stressful situations
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
- Current food handlers permit
- Desired comparable retail experience
- Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
- Ability to work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational and cooperative manner
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
Qualifications
- Knowledge of products sold within the department
