Produce Clerk

About the role

Assist Produce Manager in the operation of the produce department, including but not limited to, ordering, merchandising, rotating product, inventorying merchandise and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain produce case and keep rotated at all times.
• Responsible for overall appearance and eye appeal of sales floor.
• Assist Produce Manager in ordering all produce.
• Assist Produce Manager in keeping cooler dates, organized and properly rotated.
• Assist Produce Manager in calling in credits within the allowed time.
• Assist Produce Manager with the four week period end produce inventory.
• Assist Produce Manager with recording and maintaining accurate bookkeeping systems including but not limited to weekly and monthly produce purchases.
• Provide excellent customer service, including but not limited to friendly courteous and prompt customer service.
• Other job related tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Less than high school education.
• No prior experience necessary.
• Basic math skills.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Will be required to wear a back belt.

• Physical Abilities: Lift/Carry - Stand C (Constantly) 10 lbs or less, Walk F (Frequently) 11-20 lbs, Sit O (Occasionally) 21-50 lbs, Handle/Finger C (Constantly) 51-100 lbs, Reach Outward F (Frequently), Reach Above Shoulder F (Frequently), Climb O (Occasionally), Squat/Kneel F (Frequently), Bend F (Frequently), Push/Pull 12 lbs or less C (Constantly), Push/Pull 13-25 lbs F (Frequently), Push/Pull 26-40 lbs F (Frequently), Push/Pull 41-100 lbs F (Frequently), Squat/Kneel F (Frequently).

Qualifications

• Education: Less than high school education.
