Produce Associate

About the role

As a part of our produce team, you’ll make important decisions about the quality of the produce that members and their families eat by ensuring availability, cleanliness, and freshness. You will be on the front lines of customer service—your smile makes a difference and you can help enhance the member’s shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive attitude by smiling, greeting, and thanking members
• Provide exceptional customer service to members across the club as needed, answering any questions they have
• Maintain a clean, neat, and member-ready area
• Receive and stock merchandise in an organized manner
• Maintain inventory so there are no out-of-stock or over-stock products
• Be a Team Member:
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and help educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources
  • Communicate effectively and develop interpersonal skills for providing customer service
  • Be flexible to the needs of the business to work in other areas, track goods, maintain in-stock levels, and control shrinkage in a timely manner
• Be an Expert:
  • Understand processes and specifications related to the quality of various types of produce merchandise (e.g., taste, preparation method or use, seasonality)
  • Prepare (trim, crisp, package, scale) products according to established standards
  • Maintain product safety and follow company sanitation guidelines
  • Adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to produce quality
• Be a Techie:
  • Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement
  • Utilize handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality with the member in mind
  • Adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them
• Be an Owner:
  • Drive the performance of the area
  • Utilize digital tools and perpetual inventory management techniques to stock and rotate department products
  • Ensure quality and date control standards
  • Eliminate waste
  • Guide peers and provide attention to customer needs

  • Be an advocate for the department and the club by valuing the member's experience in the produce area

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $18.00 to $26.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
