Produce Assistant Department Manager

About the role

Festival Foods is a Wisconsin grocer dedicated to community service and guest satisfaction. We operate 40+ full-service supermarkets across Wisconsin. This position is located in West Allis.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with all Produce associates to ensure a positive shopping experience
• Follows company policies and procedures
• Maintains department goals and objectives
• Trains new associates and conducts performance reviews
• Writes and conducts performance reviews of associates
• Documents violations and conducts corrective action
• Answers questions and provides guidance to associates
• Observes and corrects sales floor and back stock conditions
• Maintains appropriate inventory levels and ensures accurate pricing
• Communicates with Store Director, Produce Manager, and other Department Managers
• Provides customer service, assists guests, and resolves issues
• Contributes to overall cleanliness of the department

Requirements

• High School Education or equivalent
• Great oral and written communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of the retail food business
• Tactful and effective interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• WI Certified Food Manager License (Festival will pay for certification)

Qualifications

• Leadership experience
• Computer literacy
• Perishable department operations knowledge
• Safety training and knowledge of equipment (hand jack, baler, forklift, cutter, etc.)
