About JerseySTEM
All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions. JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey. Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization's gender-equity agenda. Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership.
Responsibilities
- Attend the Scrum meeting of the team you will be supporting (weekly or daily).
- Create user stories to describe work items, with clear descriptions and acceptance criteria.
- Prioritize stories for the backlog and keep the team organized and focused.
- Conduct weekly meetings and monitor the health of the Kanban or Sprint board.
- Encourage team members to utilize JIRA for task management.
- Drive open communication with team members.
- Be the servant leader for the team members, mentoring/assisting them when needed.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and be "THE CHAMPION OF CHANGE".
Qualifications
- Technical Qualifications: Experience using Jira, Kanban or Sprint Board, Slack Excellent communication, analytical, mentoring and problem-solving skills
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification preferred
