About the role

The Production Technician produces quality technical materials and intermediates safely and efficiently. Using knowledge of products, raw materials, and operating procedures, the technician controls equipment that processes substances into specified products.

Responsibilities

  • Operate chemical processing equipment safely.
  • Read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Stage raw and finished materials.
  • Collect required samples during production.
  • Decontaminate equipment and piping for maintenance or disposal.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment Matrix.
  • Maintain inventories of disposable, production, and safety-related materials.
  • Recognize material compatibilities.
  • Conduct charging and filling operations.
  • Maintain the plant Hazard Communication labeling program.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties throughout the plant.
  • Assist in product changeover activities.
  • Understand and operate basic process elements and safety equipment.
  • Comply with RCRA hazardous waste regulations, including waste determinations, waste codes, and immediate communication of spills or leaks.
  • Handle waste and contaminated trash per SOP.
  • Manage labeling, inspection, and recordkeeping for waste accumulation in satellite areas, containers, and tanks.
  • Operate forklifts, shuttle wagons, and use radio communication during rail movement operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with proficiency in reading comprehension, writing, and math.
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to use information technology systems and applications.
  • Willingness to climb and perform elevated work using portable ladders and fall protection equipment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion and lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including overtime and weekends to meet business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing, Agriculture Operations, Military, or similar experience.
  • Experience operating a forklift.
  • Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong focus on safety, teamwork, and adaptability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision in a diverse team environment.

Pay

$30.42 per hour, with potential for additional compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
