Primary Focus
The Technology Supplier Manager will oversee GEICO’s highest tiered suppliers based on risk, spend, and complexity. The role involves problem-solving and innovative ideas to support internal customers, developing and leading holistic third-party specific strategies, negotiating high visibility contracting efforts, managing third-party relationships, and leading RFx strategy and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Problem Solving & Strategy Advice: Provide problem-solving and innovative ideas to support internal customers. Identify cost and value opportunities through savings, efficiencies, and speed to market for our most critical suppliers.
- Develop and Lead Strategies: Develop and lead holistic third-party specific strategies throughout the entire relationship lifecycle from sourcing, contracting, and terminations.
- Negotiation: Partner to develop the negotiation strategy and execution of high visibility contracting efforts for a broad range of services.
- Relationship Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for third parties and manage an effective governance with assigned third parties.
- Collaboration: Partner with internal risk groups to ensure third-party relationships are compliant with all relevant policies and procedures, while driving process improvements for sustainability.
- Leading RFx Strategy & Execution: Build leverage with GEICO suppliers and deliver more favorable pricing and contract terms.
- Policy Adherence: Accountable for policy adherence for all managed third-party relationships, including the planning and leading of executive business reviews with key suppliers.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in Relationship Management, Supplier Management, Project Management, Process Management, or a combination.
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills aligned to solving business initiatives.
- Proven track record of supplier strategy development and execution.
- Excellent communication and time management skills; able to communicate contract issues to diverse audiences including executive leadership.
- Provide problem-solving and innovative ideas to support internal customers.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate with vendors to more effectively position GEICO to receive the best value proposals for the company.
- Experience with supplier management and procurement software solutions.
- Experience with SaaS, Ai, PaaS, On Prem and other technology vendor management including contracting and negotiation is an advantage.
Desired Qualifications
- 4-year degree with Finance, Business Administration, or Supplier Management major.
Pay & Benefits
Annual Salary: $95,325.00 - $157,850.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
Location: Bethesda, MD or Chicago, IL; this is a hybrid role with a 3 day in office requirement.
