Role Overview

The Procurement Senior Associate is responsible for supporting the sourcing, procurement, and contract administration of utility-scale capital equipment and engineering services for EDPR NA's wind, solar, and battery storage projects. This role supports the procurement planning and strategy of major electrical and balance-of-plant equipment while collaborating with Engineering, Development, Construction, and Project Management to ensure project execution.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Support the Procurement Lead in developing sourcing strategies and competitive procurement processes for utility-scale capital equipment and engineering and construction services
  • Lead RFQs/RFPs, evaluate technical and commercial proposals, and recommend supplier and contractor selections
  • Build and maintain supplier and contractor relationships throughout the sourcing, manufacturing, and project lifecycle
  • Partner with Engineering, Development, Project Management, Finance, Construction, and Estimating to support project execution
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, schedules, warranties, service agreements, and contracts to achieve the best overall value
  • Prepare commercial evaluations, support supplier and contractor negotiations, and administer contracts through execution
  • Manage procurement documentation, contracts, budgets, milestone payments, and project schedules
  • Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers and contractors to support project needs
  • Cook up construction and engineering on manufacturing schedules, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), inspections, and delivery
  • Manage supplier and contractor lead times, to project schedules, identifying and addressing potential schedule risks
  • Monitor and manage supplier and contractor performance related to cost, quality, delivery, and schedule
  • Support the development and improvement of procurement processes, tools, templates, and documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field, Engineering or Construction
  • 5+ years of professional related supply chain, business operations, engineering, construction management, or industry manufacturing experience, including experience with external contract negotiation for services
  • Experience with procurement, contract and project management preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of the competitive bid process for construction and engineering services and negotiation techniques
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software and familiarity with e-enabled supply chain systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP)
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise (Preferred)

Physical demands & working conditions

  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
  • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
