PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.

About the role

The Procurement Program Manager, Principal oversees the Procurement organization’s budget, headcount, and forecasting processes, ensuring financial accuracy and strategic alignment with enterprise goals. This role develops and manages presentations, materials, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the Procurement Organization and partners closely with both Finance and Procurement leadership. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work headquarters.

The Procurement Excellence Center (PEC) is a strategic function dedicated to driving procurement transformation, operational efficiency, and value creation across the organization. Within the Procurement organization, the PEC establishes best practices, standardizes processes, and leverages advanced analytics and market intelligence to enable data-driven decision-making. The PEC collaborates with all Procurement teams to enhance capabilities, improve performance, and optimize costs. Key focus areas include market intelligence and analytics, digital procurement transformation, risk management, supplier relationship management, governance, and capability development.

Responsibilities

  • Recognized subject matter expert who represents PG&E in regulatory and/or industry forums on subject of expertise.
  • Lead procurement budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with Finance and business leads.
  • Provide clear, timely updates to leadership on budget performance, deliverable progress, risks, and critical actions needed to achieve objectives.
  • Manage headcount governance and maintain organizational structure accuracy.
  • Compose, design, and prepare various correspondence, presentations, communications, reports, and documents while ensuring consistency with company standards and Lean best practices.
  • Accurately manage third-party spend for Procurement contracts, including monthly forecasting, accrual management, budget tracking, and financial reporting to ensure spend aligns with approved budgets.
  • May manage major cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Lead development of program goals and metrics to meet company goals and objectives. Collaborate across the organization to ensure alignment of goals to support the program.
  • Responsible for utilizing other departments and teams to meet program goals. Organize and lead cross-utility project teams to influence utility, regulatory, and/or industry decisions.
  • Solve unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders in Finance, IT, Operations, and Business Units to ensure procurement initiatives align with enterprise priorities.
  • Integrate industry knowledge related to data into everyday business practices and decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of related experience or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent experience in business.

Skills

  • 10+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, strategic program management, or consulting roles (desired).
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in business (desired).
  • PMP Certification (desired).
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to synthesize and interpret complex data.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Ability to turn data into clear, compelling narratives for executive audiences.
  • Ability to use understanding of the business to help drive strategic decision-making and recommend operational improvements.
  • Ability to influence leaders inside and outside of the department through data analysis, insights, and recommendations.
  • Ability to lead the largest and most complex projects across Procurement.
  • Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs.
  • Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact.

Pay

  • Bay Area Min: $144,000
  • Bay Area Mid: $194,000
  • Bay Area Max: $244,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
