About the role
The Procurement Planning Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing logistics procurement processes across the Americas region subsidiaries, ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality acquisition of logistics products and services in alignment with organizational objectives.
This role owns the development and execution of regional procurement strategies, leveraging market intelligence, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to drive cost efficiency, supplier competitiveness, and operational excellence.
The Manager oversees procurement governance, supports supplier performance, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure scalable, compliant, and value-driven procurement operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of regional logistics procurement strategies to achieve sustainable competitive advantage
- Establish and continuously refine sourcing strategies to support both existing operations and new business growth across the Americas region
- Design, implement, and standardize analytical tools and frameworks for supplier quotation evaluation, cost modeling, and benchmarking
- Develop and maintain a robust and competitive supplier pipeline by identifying, qualifying, and on-boarding strategic logistics service providers
- Own and govern the supplier evaluation framework, including the design of customized evaluation criteria aligned with specific logistics business requirements
- Oversee supplier performance evaluation outcomes, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and drive decision-making related to supplier selection, optimization, and consolidation
- Continuously enhance supplier evaluation methodologies, leveraging data insights and market trends to improve accuracy, transparency, and strategic alignment
- Lead the administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of the GPMS (Glovis Procurement Management System) to enhance procurement visibility, control, and efficiency
- Proactively identify procurement risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities, and implement strategic solutions to address complex logistics sourcing challenges
- RFX Management & Contracting
- Own and drive end-to-end RFx processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ), including sourcing strategy, supplier engagement, evaluation oversight, and award recommendations with full accountability for outcomes
- Lead contract negotiations and ensure favorable commercial terms and risk mitigation
- Standardize procurement processes and contract frameworks across subsidiaries
- Ensure transparency, competitiveness, and compliance in sourcing activities
- Cost Management & Financial Performance
- Develop and execute a detailed cost analysis, able to build a cost simulation/bidding tool to model competitive rates and rate scenarios
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, negotiations, and process improvements
- Monitor procurement spend and identify cost-saving opportunities across subsidiaries
- Ensure unit price competitiveness and alignment with market trends
- Market Intelligence & Data Analytics
- Lead market research and benchmarking to support sourcing strategies and decision-making
- Analyze supplier capabilities, pricing trends, and industry best practices
- Develop and manage procurement reporting dashboards and performance metrics to provide strategic insights to senior leadership based on data analysis

Skills
- Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics procurement (FTL, LTL, warehousing, etc.) in the American continent especially for Canada, USA, Mexico and Brazil
- Strong negotiations, procurement, and conflict resolution skills
- Proficient PC skills - Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, database management systems required
- High level of Excel skills required
- Critical thinking, planning, strategy, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Understanding of sourcing and procurement methodologies: including spend analysis, supplier screening, benchmarking, clean-sheet costing, negotiations, supplier performance management, scorecards, contracting, and cost-saving
- Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills
- Able to communicate at least in one of the languages of our regional partners (Spanish, Portuguese, Korean)
- Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently across subsidiary locations within the Americas region
- Understanding of sourcing and procurement methodologies: including spend analysis, supplier screening, benchmarking, clean-sheet costing, negotiations, supplier performance management, scorecards, contracting, and cost-saving
- Individual must be a self-starter with ability to work with limited direction, initiator, and capability to provide solutions
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Required
- 7 - 10 years of direct experience in Logistics, Transportation, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Operations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
- Constant use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
- Sit for 5+ hours per day
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach over shoulder, kneel, push, pull 1-3 hours per day
Working and Environmental Conditions
- Typical office environment with low-level noise exposure
