Key Qualifications & Responsibilities

  • 8+ years of industry experience
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • Industry experience in T&D/Energy/Substation
  • Strong electrical background is essential
  • Open to individuals with demonstrated Project Management experience in the electric power industry.

Duties

  • Manage and oversee Procurement and Expeditor team members
  • Support business development and estimating teams by creating innovative material supply strategies for large infrastructure projects
  • Lead material bid processes by soliciting pricing from a global supplier network
  • Negotiate contracts with successful material supply bids
  • Track commodity markets to identify and mitigate material risks
  • Establish and maintain strategic vendor relationships worldwide
  • Maintain project success by tracking forecasted, budgeted, and actual material pricing
  • Expedite material deliveries by managing manufacturing, shipment, and receipt status
  • Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) industry
  • Proven knowledge in construction contract administration, EPC procurement, and business law
  • Experience with supplier and subcontractor prequalification, Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitation, bid evaluations, contract negotiations, contract generation, vendor submittal management, and expediting oversight on EPC T&D projects

Preferred Experience & Education

  • Experience managing a procurement team
  • Prior experience collaborating with engineering teams and contractors on material specifications and bill of materials reviews
  • Strong industry relationships with vendors and subcontractors

Skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently while supporting a team
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executive-level management
  • Strong customer service and time management skills

Travel Requirements

  • Travel: Yes
  • Percent of Time: Up to 25% to regional or client offices.
