Procurement Manager [Indirect]

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Procurement Manager – Indirect to join the team in Pennsylvania or Dallas, Texas. The role oversees category strategies and supplier management for indirect materials and services such as IT, Marketing, HR, and Corporate Services, with an estimated annual spend of $30‑$60 MM.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute category strategies aligned to Utz business goals, including spend analysis, supply market analysis, and alignment with business objectives.
• Provide fact‑based recommendations to executive management for strategic buying decisions.
• Work proactively with key suppliers on capacity planning and forward‑looking inventory programs to mitigate supply‑assurance risks.
• Develop and negotiate long‑term purchasing contracts with favorable terms, including supplier‑owned inventory, just‑in‑time delivery, and reduced lead times.
• Maintain deep understanding of supply market dynamics for assigned categories and serve as category expert for internal customers and procurement leadership.
• Support supplier development initiatives with strategic direct‑materials suppliers to manage cost and increase value.
• Identify and implement supplier cost‑savings projects to improve the balance sheet.
• Select suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery criteria.
• Collaborate with department managers to clarify purchase requirements, identify consumption trends, and place orders.
• Leverage multiple sources of market intelligence and data to make data‑informed decisions.
• Coordinate and monitor raw‑material inventories with manufacturing, co‑packers, and suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, marketing, or finance.
• 3+ years of experience in the CPG, food, or beverage industry.
• Knowledge of proactive supplier development activities such as root‑cause problem solving, lean manufacturing, and kaizen.
• Experience working with multiple internal customers and functional units.
