Position Summary
This position is responsible for leading a team that manages indirect spend categories comprising of Freight, MRO Supplies, Capital Equipment, Packaging, Utilities, and Services, to support manufacturing and distribution located in North America.
Position Responsibilities
- Lead team responsible for freight, MRO supplies, equipment, packaging, utilities and services to maintain procurement operations at US Production facilities.
- Manages development and execution of Procurement processes in line with established metrics.
- Delivers cost reduction in managed spend categories by actively pursuing cost reduction opportunities and negotiating with suppliers.
- Develops contracts and service agreements with suppliers, ensures supply base delivers to the expected service levels and KPIs defined.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders, regional group companies, and suppliers to resolve issues.
- Lets and establishes a network of vendors to supply materials and services.
- Led SAP and Business process improvement initiatives impacting managed spend areas.
- Prepares bid requests and reviews supply quotations.
- Leads Procurement projects and participates in cross-functional projects as assigned.
- Communicates effectively with suppliers, stakeholders, and leadership.
- Coach and Mentor direct reports, and other Procurement team members.
Position Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Purchasing of Indirect Spend categories in a mid-large size organization (required)
- At least 3 years of experience with managing global freight and transportation (required)
- Bachelors’ degree in business or related (required), MBA (desired)
- CPM or CSCP certification (desired)
- Chemical industry background (desired)
