Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day supply chain operations for food and related supplies across the foodservice division while meeting budget targets
- Plan and purchase food, disposables, cleaning supplies, and services in a timely, cost-effective manner while maintaining quality, safety, and specification standards
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for goods and services
- Forecast future procurement needs
- Maintain strong supplier relationships while identifying new suppliers and products
- Negotiate pricing on key ingredients and establish annual purchasing strategies
- Prepare RFQs for all goods and services
- Approve purchases in accordance with company policy
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate, timely invoice payment
- Lead direct reports by providing clear direction, training, and support
- Collaborate with other Procurement Managers in overlapping areas of responsibility
Requirements
- Three or more years of management-level purchasing or procurement experience within a hospitality-focused organization, such as restaurant groups, hotel chains, foodservice companies, or related purchasing groups
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Solid understanding of purchasing strategies and inventory management
- Strong negotiation skills
- Product development experience preferred
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to support effective buying decisions, resolve issues, improve processes, and reduce costs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Assertive, outgoing, and professional demeanor
- Customer-focused with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Manage rebate programs, provide required documentation, and collect reporting
- Partner with field operations, headquarters departments, and contract services on vendor setups, pricing, and payment terms
- Conduct business reviews with vendors
- Negotiate and approve pricing agreements and contracts for food goods and services on a monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual basis
- Manage new account set-ups and changes with field operators.
