Procurement Manager - Biotech/Pharma Manufacturing Seal Beach, CA | Up to $160,000 Base Depending on Experience Onsite 5 Days/Week| Long Beach, CA Direct + Indirect Procurement highly preferred Biotech / Pharma / Life Sciences / Medical Device ManufacturingWe’re partnering with a growing biotech/pharmaceutical manufacturing organization that is hiring a hands-on Procurement Manager to lead sourcing, vendor management, purchasing activity, and procurement operations.This is a true player/coach role. The team is small, so this person needs to lead while also actively managing sourcing, supplier negotiations, RFQs/RFPs, contracts, purchase orders, and day-to-day procurement needs.The right candidate must have experience with both direct procurement and indirect procurement in a regulated manufacturing environment.What You’ll Be DoingManage sourcing and procurement activity across direct and indirect spend categoriesLead and develop a small team, including one direct Buyer-level reportHandle RFQs, RFPs, supplier selection, negotiations, contracts, and purchase commitmentsSupport direct procurement for categories such as raw materials, chemicals, packaging, manufacturing supplies, components, and production-related goodsManage indirect procurement for categories such as security, waste management, software platforms, diagnostics, professional services, facilities, and operational servicesOversee purchase requests, purchase orders, supplier onboarding, quotes, contracts, and supplier performancePartner with operations, manufacturing, quality, finance, and other internal teamsDrive cost reduction, process improvement, supplier performance, and budget disciplineSupport inventory needs and work with VMI contacts to maintain adequate supply levelsHelp write or improve procurement SOPs, policies, guidelines, and proceduresEnsure ethical, compliant, and effective procurement practicesSupport GMP-regulated purchasing requirements and supplier expectationsWhat They’re Looking For5+ years of progressive sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or vendor management experienceExperience with both direct and indirect procurement is highly preferred Background in biotech, biopharma, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, life sciences, medical device, medical equipment manufacturing, or other GMP-regulated manufacturingExperience managing suppliers, contracts, RFQs/RFPs, purchase orders, and negotiationsStrong indirect procurement experience across operational spend categoriesDirect procurement experience with raw materials, chemicals, packaging, manufacturing supplies, or production-related materialsERP experience requiredGMP knowledge strongly preferredExperience writing or improving SOPs, policies, or procurement guidelines preferredPrior supervisory, lead, or manager-level experience preferredStrong communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and cross-functional leadership skillsComfortable being hands-on in a small-team environmentWhy You’ll Love ItUp to $160,000 base depending on experienceHigh-impact procurement role in a regulated biotech/pharma manufacturing environmentTrue player/coach seat with ownership over sourcing, suppliers, purchasing, and process improvementOpportunity to lead a small team while staying hands-on with procurement executionStrong visibility across manufacturing, quality, finance, operations, and leadershipBest fit for someone who enjoys both strategy and day-to-day problem solvingOnsite role with direct access to the operation and internal stakeholders MOHR Talent is an equal-opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local nondiscrimination laws.
