Procurement Manager

Responsibilities

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Procurement Manager in our Carson, California location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we’re the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the location procurement team
• Sourcing, negotiation, contracting and executing agreements to fulfill day-to-day business needs
• Manage project related teams and initiatives
• Process improvements and process expertise for procurement
• Commodity management support (assisting in implementing process improvements and supplier integration, etc.)
• The Procurement Manager is responsible for occasionally leading and aiding in the development of, and instituting, Optimized Processes.
• Assigned areas of focus may include: systems, procurement operations, commodity management interfaces, materials, logistics, contract management, supplier management and contract administration.
• When assigned as a leader of project-related teams the position may have multiple initiative teams operating simultaneously. The Purchasing Manager may operate individually or manage ad-hoc teams to achieve the project goals.
• Program Management and Day-to-Day Execution
• Performs and manages day-to-day data collection, implementation, supplier improvement and process improvement within HFS and across the interface between HFS and its suppliers in order to achieve effective competitive supply chains
• Redesigns as assigned and/or facilitates changes in procurement operations to enable creation of transactional center-ready work, through process improvements
• Identifies transactional improvement initiatives that can be driven through commodity management and supports their achievement
• Promotes communication across the organization to identify and drive toward common policies and best practices to achieve cost reductions
• Performs and at times manages sourcing and negotiations, implementation of agreements and Integration of key suppliers, performance monitoring plus ongoing supplier and contract management for assigned BU specific commodities
• Contributes to Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reduction efforts and initiatives to achieve the benefits
• Aids in the improvement of systems and work processes

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Supply Chain or Finance. Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in a Supply Chain or Purchasing position. Minimum of 1 year experience working in manufacturing environment.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous aerospace manufacturing experienced preferred. Previous supervisor/manager experience leading a purchasing team.

Benefits/Salary

The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation. The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $145,000.
