ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage procurementspend within assigned categories and support overall cost control and profitabilityobjectives.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for materials, equipment, and services.
- Review and approve purchase requisitions and purchase orders in accordance with company authorization limits.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to ensure best total cost of ownership.
- Monitor supplier performance related to cost, quality, delivery, and service.
- Track procurement KPIs and report savings, spend, and performance metrics to leadership.
- Track spending and identify trends; make Operations and Sales aware of increased costs (e.g., fuel, HSE/PPE, and other escalating pricing).
- Generate historical data books to support bidding and cost analysis, including: Trend data from recent bids Example pricing discounts and winning strategies Historical performance information Key vendor and subcontractor contact information.
- Attend management-level reviews and contribute strategies to win work associated with operational subcontractor and vendor bidding.
- Establish and oversee operational procurement procedures in coordination with Operations and Field Teams.
- Work with Operations and Sales in bidding and awarding work to vendors and subcontractors.
- Establish discount programs with approved vendors and subcontractors.
- Partner with Operations to resolve vendor or subcontractor performance issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Work with Sales and the quoting team to review RFP and scope requirements, providing feedback to proposal teams and business units to address vendor and subcontractor issues on projects.
- Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers in alignment with company standards.
- Help qualify vendors and contractors, then work with Legal and Contracts to negotiate Master Service Agreements (MSAs) with selected companies as necessary.
- Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and serve as the primary point of escalation for procurement-related issues.
- Review, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Ensure all suppliers meet safety, quality, insurance, and regulatory requirements. Address supplier disputes and performance issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Support audits by maintaining accurate procurement records, contracts, and documentation.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including shortages, quality issues, and supplier dependency.
- Partner with Safety, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure suppliers meet all compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance to forecast material and equipment needs.
- Ensure timely availability of equipment and materials required for field operations and projects.
- Support standardization of materials and equipment where appropriate to reduce cost and complexity.
- Cook with Engineering on technical specifications, vendor selection, and non-routine purchases.

- Process Improvement and Strategic Sourcing
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance supplier performance.
- Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and industry developments to inform sourcing decisions.
- Engage with industry peers and suppliers to identify innovative sourcing strategies and best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication
- Provide procurement guidance and training to internal stakeholders as needed.
- Communicate procurement status, risks, and opportunities to leadership in a clear and timely manner.
- Escalate critical supply or cost issues to senior leadership as required.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, sourcing strategies, contract management, and cost control.
- Experience negotiating commercial terms and managing supplier relationships.
- High ethical standards and commitment to compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including negotiation, written, and verbal communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and procurement or ERP systems.
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and insurable driving record.
