Procurement Forester / Log Buyer

General Job Description

This job requires daily travel to logging sites and timber sales. Logs or timber are measured, graded and purchased via direct negotiation or bid. Other job responsibilities include trucking coordination, timber sale administration and uploading scale data to the computer.

Specific Requirements

• Scaling and grading logs and trees.
• Using handheld data collectors to scale logs.
• Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
• Using computer programs including email, excel, and word.
• Able to work independently in a safe and effective manner.
• Adherence to safety policies.

Essential Experience

• A degree from a two-year technical program or 4-year undergraduate program in a forest products related field.
• Or log/timber buying experience.
