About the role
This is an initial 6 months contract with extensions, located in Vienna, VA, and requires a US Citizen, GC Holders, or those authorized to work in the US. The compensation is $60 - 65 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Support Navy Federal's business objectives by negotiating, executing, and managing commercial contracts for the acquisition of goods and services
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts
- Lead negotiations on contract modifications with stakeholder input
- Provide assistance to internal stakeholders on contractual matters, requirements, risk management, and mitigation strategies
- Ensure the level of effort and attention to detail is commensurate with the complexity, value, and risk associated with the acquisition
- Establish an acquisition strategy to include the type of contract and milestones, contractible requirements
- Coordinates review of contracts or purchase agreements with Procurement Management and in conjunction with Office of General Counsel, as required
- Analyze proposals, perform cost or price analysis, and develop negotiation objectives
- Lead negotiations related to contract pricing, terms, and conditions with potential contractors
- Interpret contract provisions for Business Units and provide guidance
- Close out contracts or issue termination notices and review settlement proposals
- Presents alternatives and recommendations to solve unique and complex problems
Qualifications
- Experience in contract law, terms, and conditions
- Experience in acquisition planning, strategy development, negotiations, contract management, and administration
- Significant knowledge of commercial and business practices to develop, execute, and manage contracts
- Significant knowledge evaluating and mitigating risk in contracts
- Experience in written bid/proposal preparation
- Effective word processing and spreadsheet software skills
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of cost containment strategies
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment
- Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Skills
- Familiarity with contract terms and conditions, including legal terms and conditions
- Ability to influence others
- Familiarity with IT contracting, including IT Services, hardware/software contracting, SaaS, and cloud services (AI knowledge is a plus)
- Ability to achieve savings for the company
- Ability to align with company objectives, including the mission and vision
Education
A Bachelor's degree or above in Business, Contract Management, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
