About the role

This position is responsible for purchasing activities following in-house Company and client specifications, including evaluating vendors, sourcing products, and negotiating prices. Monitors all orders until received and verified.

Responsibilities

  • Conducted vendor research, facilitated setup, and managed relationships, ensuring the selection of quality vendors and maintaining a strong network for procurement needs.
  • Evaluate and analyze supplier offers, ensuring the best value for the company.
  • Engage in proactive negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable pricing while fostering positive, long-term relationships with existing and potential new suppliers.
  • Generate purchase orders in alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor order statuses to guarantee prompt and accurate deliveries, addressing any discrepancies or issues.
  • Inspect the quality of goods received, ensuring they meet the company's standards.
  • Keep meticulous records of purchases, including product details, delivery information, and invoice data.
  • Accurately assign purchase costs to the appropriate project phases within the company's accounting software.
  • Utilize MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other software programs efficiently to track and report on procurement activities.
  • Operate various office technologies, including Windows 10 PCs, scanners, printers, smartphones, tablets, and other devices.
  • Promptly identify and report any safety hazards to the supervisor, contributing to a safe work environment.
  • Maintain professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with customers and vendors.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures and complete required certifications/training as requested by the company or clients.

Requirements

A high school diploma and/or bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a relevant field and/or one year experience in related field roles.

Skills

Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, exceptional time management and organizational capabilities. Knowledgeable in generally accepted accounting principles and capable of applying them accurately. Possesses superior written and verbal communication abilities. Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

Regular tasks include engaging in clear communication with colleagues. The role necessitates sitting, standing, and moving throughout the office space and operating various equipment, which requires reaching with hands, arms, and fingers. Occasionally, the employee may need to lift objects weighing up to 15 pounds. Job-specific vision requirements include the need for close vision. The office noise level is generally moderate, although there may be higher noise.

Schedule

This position is full-time, typically Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional extended hours and weekend work may be necessary. While most travel will be local during business hours, there might be a need for some overnight stays.
