Job Summary
In this role, you will support inventory and warehouse process compliance and accuracy. You will review purchase orders, shipping documents, and inspection reports and ensure that discrepancies are recorded, materials are stored properly, and physical inventories are completed. Your work will help ensure inventory is accurate, so a project has enough tools and equipment to meet requirements.
Major Responsibilities
- Reviews and assists with the physical count and inspection of arriving material
- Reviews order receiving documentation including commercial invoices
- Reviews packing lists and bills of lading for completeness and accuracy
- Reviews material receiving reports for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
- Ensures documentation to record unsatisfactory over, short, and damage conditions of material received is generated and processed as per the project procedures
- During receipt, assists receiving personnel with identifying the storage requirements for goods based on supplier requirements and that the location of material in storage is properly recorded on the appropriate storage records (manual or automated)
- Prepares construction equipment inspection reports for rental equipment
- Works with suppliers to maintain on-site Min-Max inventories, consignments, and supplier-maintained facilities
Education And Experience Requirements
- Requires a University Hire with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience
- Required Knowledge And Skills
- Knowledge of warehouse receiving, inventory control, and materials management processes
- Familiarity with procurement documentation such as Purchase Orders, Packing Lists, MRRs, OS&D/UOS&D reports, and shipping documents
- Experience using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Maximo, or similar materials management systems)
- Strong organizational and document control skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, Expediting, and Field Engineering teams
- Basic understanding of logistics and material tracking processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction, mining, or industrial project environment
Key Qualification Factors For The Position
- Previous experience in warehouse operations, procurement support, or materials management
- Experience handling receiving documentation, inventory transactions, and material reconciliation
- Familiarity with ERP/material tracking systems and inventory databases
- Strong communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience supporting large-scale industrial, EPC, mining, or construction projects is preferred
