About the role

The Procurement Manager - Indirect is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for utility services, facility operations, maintenance, capital projects, and related indirect spend categories. This role manages supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, drives cost savings initiatives, and partners with stakeholders to ensure reliable, cost-effective services that support business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for indirect procurement categories.
  • Lead supplier negotiations to achieve cost savings and favorable contract terms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and risks.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contract terms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports and recommendations to leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or supply chain experience.
  • 3+ years managing facilities, utilities, construction, capital projects, or indirect procurement categories.
  • Experience negotiating service contracts, maintenance agreements, and utility-related spend.
  • Strong understanding of supplier management, contract administration, and strategic sourcing methodologies.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, industrial, healthcare, life sciences, or corporate facilities environments preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, CSCP, or similar are a plus.

Qualifications

A Successful Procurement Category Manager - Indirect Should Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or supply chain experience.
  • 3+ years managing facilities, utilities, construction, capital projects, or indirect procurement categories.
