Processing Technician
The Botanist is a subsidiary of Canopy USA, LLC, a leading vertically integrated, multi-state operator in the United States cannabis industry. With the transition of Acreage Holdings to Canopy USA, LLC in December 2024, the company is positioned to consolidate operations across its three business units – Wana, Jetty, and Acreage – realizing synergies, cost savings, and supporting growth in state-legal markets. Canopy USA, LLC covers key market segments including flower, vape, concentrates, edibles, beverages, and retail, with an emphasis on the Midwestern and Northeastern U.S. markets.
About the role
The Processing Technician I is responsible for various processes associated with cannabis product development, including harvesting, trimming, and processing plant material. This role involves providing the daily care and focused attention necessary to ensure clean, high-quality, and safe cannabis products. Technicians play a critical role in maintaining accuracy, compliance, and quality standards across all processing stages.
Responsibilities
- Plant Processing: Harvest, trim, and process plant material by hand or using specialized machinery. Inspect plant material for defects using appropriate tools and promptly report concerns to the processing leadership team.
- Data Accuracy And Quality Control: Accurately record data throughout the processing procedures, including inventory, weights, and measurements of plant material, in compliance with company protocols. Adhere to quality control SOPs and verify that quality standards are met during each stage of the process.
- Department Maintenance and Compliance: Maintain a clean, compliant, and safe work environment by promptly reporting compliance or safety concerns. Clean and sanitize the processing area as assigned, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing surfaces and equipment, and reorganizing stock and inventory as directed. Dispose of waste in accordance with standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Performance And Team Support: Meet daily goals, processing objectives, and KPIs as established by management. Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by the Processing Supervisor or Senior Production Manager to meet the needs of the business.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent – required
- Minimum of 1-3 years of trimming and/or production experience – strongly preferred
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary focus and attention to detail
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with colleagues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Must be of the minimum age required by state regulations
- Ability to pass state-mandated background check(s)
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to learn, navigate, and accurately utilize the company’s seed-to-sale tracking software (where applicable)

Schedule
Available to work Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm ET, with flexibility for mandatory overtime as required to meet business needs. Subject to change as business needs.
