Processing Shift Supervisor TRAINEE (Bilingual - English/Spanish)

About the role
The Processing Shift Supervisor Trainee at Nutrition 101 is responsible for overseeing production operations during assigned shifts. This role ensures that work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards. The Shift Supervisor leads production staff, manages workflow, resolves issues in real time, and acts as the key point of contact for shift performance. This is a hands-on role requiring daily engagement in plant operations and active participation in production when needed.
Responsibilities
- Become fully certified in the role.
- Serve as pacesetter for all processing/production activities.
- Supervise and organize the entire shift; able to step in for any role under Shift Lead, Shift Operator, or Processing Shift Associate.
- Review load scheduling and understand scheduling priorities.
- Process loads completely and efficiently.
- Operate all equipment efficiently and understand when maintenance is needed.
- Confirm documentation and math totals are correct for every load on shift; ensure all paperwork is accurate.
- Train crew on latest procedures and confirm understanding.
- Complete daily supervisor checklist and cleaning checklists.
- Communicate with team, off-going/on-coming shifts, and leadership.
- Manage employees (confirm staffing, write-ups, attendance issues, and communicate days off).
- Perform all duties of Shift Leads, Operators, and New Employees.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and accountability.
- Support employee training, development, and performance management efforts.
- Troubleshoot production issues and resolve them efficiently.

Requirements
- Ability to perform physical production work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Ability to work long working days/weeks, including considerable overtime.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required).
- Previous manufacturing, production, or industrial operations experience (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing production priorities.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with standard business software.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance and repairs.
- Able to work around dairy products.
- Able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs repetitively) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Able to stand and be on one's feet for extended periods of time.
- Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background check.
