Processing Lead - 2nd Shift

About the role

You’ll provide leadership and direction to production employees to ensure all products meet production demands and specifications. You’ll complete documentation, maintain a safe work environment, and uphold product safety and quality standards while embodying Jack Link’s values.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct employees to meet production demands and specifications.
• Complete all required documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following safety policies, developing safe work habits, and identifying/eliminating hazards.
• Ensure product safety and quality by adhering to standards and reporting deviations.
• Manage equipment start-up, including Pre-Op inspections and first-piece checks (e.g., temperature, ingredient labels, weight, diameter, length).
• Coordinate with supervisors to secure supplies and products for maximum machine output.
• Monitor workflow and adjust personnel/resources to optimize production efficiencies.
• Update supervisors on daily production progress.
• Complete end-of-shift paperwork and maintain accurate Work-in-Process inventory.
• Verify accuracy of line check data, machine speeds, scale verifications, and DTM checks.
• Ensure proper labeling, identification, and FIFO rotation of products.
• Minimize rework and inedible product where applicable.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work/storage areas.
• Perform daily operational sanitation duties.
• Develop team members through training, morale-building, cross-training, and clear job expectations.
• Assist in continuous improvement of department organization, equipment, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 6 months of relevant experience (preferred: High School Diploma or GED and food industry experience).
• Solid verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
• Leadership, problem-solving, and motivational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects.
• Ability to perform repetitive functions with superior accuracy and attention to detail.
• Adherence to company policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
• Regular attendance is essential.

Pay

The hiring range for this role is $21.81 - $32.71 hourly. Actual wages vary based on external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set/experience.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger/handle/feel, lift/move up to 25 pounds, and talk/hear.
• Occasionally required to sit, reach with hands/arms, and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision.

Work Environment

• Plant/office setting with varying temperatures and noise levels.
• Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet/slippery floors.
• Travel may be required.
