About the Role
Emerson is seeking a Process Tuner Field Engineer with boiler experience to join our Power and Water Solutions team. This role is based in Houston, TX, but is open to remote candidates with previous process tuner and Ovation DCS experience who are willing to travel 80%. You will manage resources for service and field projects, provide matrix supervision to Field Engineers, and work closely with customers in the power industry.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced process tuning for Boiler or BOP processes.
- Collaborate with plant operations teams to optimize productivity of steam and electricity.
- Develop and implement startup and tuning activities for major retrofit projects.
- Generate and store tuning reports for all site tuning activities.
- Work with the stimulation group to startup and tune high-fidelity systems for customer units.
- Conduct site acceptance and performance testing for major retrofit projects to meet contractual targets.
- Apply specialized knowledge in an advisory or technical assistant role to engineering and management teams.
- Engage with customers to review and promote service, maintenance contracts, system additions, and stand-alone system requirements.
- Develop and advise on "engineered system" projects or system additions using current and non-current technologies.
- Provide project management for large projects during installation, startup, or subcontractor supervision.
- Recommend hiring of Field Engineers and participate in interviews and performance evaluations.
- Analyze, investigate, and resolve customer warranty and policy claims.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of field engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of power plant operation and controls.
- Strong understanding of control schemes for Boiler and Turbine in conventional, combined cycle, and renewable power plants, as well as water treatment facilities.
- Demonstrated experience tuning conventional, combined cycle, or renewable plants.
- Willingness and ability to travel 80% of the time, primarily in North America.
- High degree of ingenuity, resourcefulness, and competence in technical activities.
- Recognized authority in the industry with demonstrated competence in related fields.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $82,800 - $165,000 annually, based on skills, talent, capabilities, and experience.
