The Basics
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience in relevant field
- Background in major steel mill processes and products with in-depth knowledge of HDGL processes and technology
- Knowledge of metal coated steel strip properties and applications
- Understanding of heat and mass transfer, combustion, chemical reactions, and equilibrium (chemistry and chemical engineering fundamentals), metallurgy of steels, etc.
- Demonstrated understanding of control systems, instrumentation, process models

- Advanced Technical knowledge of Hot Dip Galvanizing process and flat carbon products
- Strong Teamwork and a hands-on working approach
- Advanced skills in data analysis, Statistics (design of experiments, data analysis and model formulation)

What You'll Be Doing
- Developing and maintaining an effective technical team responsible for Hot Dip Galvanizing (HDG) technology and development
- Leading major improvement projects; improving process and product capabilities, throughput, cost (yield), energy and environmental performance
- Providing technical support for all HDG units, reporting HDG process performance to Senior management, and managing/improving statistical systems that define product/process capabilities
- Ensuring working knowledge of competencies as defined in ISO 14001 (current version), IATF 16949 (current version), and ISO 17025 (current version)

- Office and Industrial setting
- Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
- Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
