Process Technician I - Semiconductor Manufacturing

Location: Colorado Springs, Federal or Elkton (depending on business needs). Shift: Days, 7 am – 7 pm.

About the role

Semtech is a leading supplier of high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms. We are seeking a Process Technician to support advanced packaging of wafer and die-level silicon products in a high-tech, high-volume, small-company environment.

Responsibilities

• Program tools to run processes for engineering tests (10%)
• Document routine practices and update operating procedures as improvements are made (10%)
• Compile processing data into standardized reports to share with technicians and engineers and identify issues (10%)
• Train operators on standard operations across multiple process steps (10%)
• Assist Process and R&D Engineers in engineering evaluation and/or troubleshooting process and equipment issues (30%)
• Work closely with production to improve manufacturing and engineering processes by:
  • Responding to tool alarms with an understanding of the root cause to ensure successful processing
  • Dispositioning non-conforming production material
  • Managing engineering tests through the entire process flow
  • Assisting with investigations for low-yielding lots to identify root cause and corrective actions
  • Monitoring and operating equipment in accordance with operational procedures, with an in-depth understanding of each process step

Requirements

• GED or equivalent
• 1+ years’ experience as a process or engineering technician in an electronics or semiconductor manufacturing role
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Associate’s degree in math, engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years’ experience as a process or engineering technician in the electronics or semiconductor manufacturing industry
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Pay

$21 – $25 per hour USD. Several factors are considered in determining base salary, including job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, job location, and the value of other elements of the total compensation package.
