About the role

Fast-paced and rapidly changing, Northwire designs and manufactures custom, made-to-order products for a diverse range of industries. Successful team members will need to demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, a positive attitude, and exacting attention to detail. This position provides technical support for operators, sales, and engineering on machine, equipment, and material processing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for operators explaining and demonstrating the operation of equipment, material processing, and safety in material handling
  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations on process and quality improvement to ensure the delivery of high-quality products that exceed customer expectations
  • Perform equipment updates and improve processing of equipment
  • Actively communicate with Production, Sales, and Management
  • Participate in daily meetings
  • Produce reporting as needed
  • Practice the 5’s+1 methodology on the assigned area and common areas
  • Proactively ensure a safe working environment for team members and guests
  • Live and model the Vision, Mission, Quality, and Safety Policies
  • Create a culture of performance as evidenced by continual improvement in Safety, Quality, Innovation, and attaining company sales revenue and earnings growth targets
  • Create a learning organization that can adapt to changing market needs
  • Abide by Code of Ethics for Professional Conduct, utilizing appropriate behavior in situations requiring ethical decisions and maintaining absolute confidentiality
  • Support the delivery of high-quality products and services that exceed customer expectations
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Technical degree preferred)
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Wire and cable manufacturing experience desired
  • Training in problem-solving skills (PDCA)
  • English Proficiency Level: C1 (Advanced)

Work Environment

Working within an air-conditioned production/manufacturing environment. Walking surfaces are cement flooring with anti-fatigue mats. Must be able to work in a standard office environment with shared desk areas, seated for extended periods of time. PPE required: Steel toe shoes and safety glasses.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, walk, and bend
  • Must be able to work onsite

Schedule

Flexible schedule and willingness to work extended hours as needed to complete work. Must be able to work overtime as required. Minimal travel may be expected for this position.
