What To Expect

The Process Engineering Technician conducts process sustaining tasks for the manufacturing line, managing various mechanical and chemical processes. This includes responding to out-of-control processes, working on yield improvement projects, handling non-conforming materials from the manufacturing line, and qualifying new equipment and processes. The Technician also supports Engineering and Manufacturing through activities such as 5S and Lean manufacturing, yield improvement, scrap reduction, production line configuration, and adherence to safety procedures.

What You'll Do

  • Support Engineering and Manufacturing by improving and drafting manufacturing instructions, including rework procedures, and ensuring up-to-date qualification schedules
  • Train Associates on new or revised manufacturing instructions
  • Provide daily coverage of production line processes for smooth operations, responding promptly to out-of-control processes to minimize costs and maximize productivity
  • Investigate and implement countermeasures to enhance process Cpk and product yield
  • Conduct experiments and analyze data under the guidance of process engineers, including but not limited to Design of Experiments (DOE) and Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R)
  • Lead disposition of non-conformance materials produced by the production line, escalating issues to the Production Engineering team as necessary
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives, managing parts and tools inventory, executing repairs and troubleshooting precisely according to instructed processes, and managing workload proactively with a positive attitude to assist co-workers

What You'll Bring

  • Prefers Gigafactory Nevada manufacturing experience
  • Associate’s Degree in Electronics, a technical certificate, or equivalent industrial/manufacturing experience
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Visio, Access, etc.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Proven ability to analyze test data, malfunctions, and deviations, contributing to process corrections
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a focus on safety, team collaboration, and attention to detail
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
