About the role

A Process Technician I performs a variety of functions directly related to the chemical processing of aircraft parts and components. This position operates in a state-of-the-art, fully automated $18 million anodize line equipped with the newest and most advanced equipment in the industry.

This role is on 4th shift: Friday through Sunday from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Chemically process detailed parts and final assemblies to current specification requirements.
  • Manage hazardous waste disposal and maintain awareness of chemicals used throughout the day.
  • Understand and apply customer, company, and international standards relating to finishes, special processes, policies, and processing.
  • Produce acceptable parts and pass all required evaluations for assigned processes.
  • Document processes accurately to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to safety practices.
  • Work with minimal direction from area supervisors or team coordinators.
  • Operate all applicable equipment proficiently to complete required jobs.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with co-workers and personnel in other departments.
  • Interpret part drawings and illustrated planning.
  • Follow work instructions to ensure proper processing of parts.
  • Wear and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly.
  • Perform duties such as Aqueous Cleaning, Chemical Etching, Chromate Conversion Coating, Anodizing (sulfuric, non-chromic, hard coat, red & black-dye, and Phosphoric Acid), Passivation, Abrasive Blasting, Heat Treatment of Aluminum, and Laboratory Analysis.
  • Handle full Laboratory Duties and/or PAA Operator Certification as required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma (or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D. in the U.S.) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.

  • Prior process technician experience.
