The Role
T1 Energy is looking to hire a Process Specialist who is responsible for supporting and improving manufacturing process performance by monitoring process health, driving technical problem-solving, improving standard work, and supporting cross-functional execution on the production floor.
This role serves as a key link between floor operations and engineering intent by helping stabilize manufacturing processes, reduce variation, improve quality, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Process Ownership & Support
- Monitor and support assigned manufacturing processes to ensure safe, stable, and efficient operation.
- Identify process abnormalities, variation, recurring issues, and performance gaps impacting quality, throughput, or reliability.
- Support daily floor operations through technical guidance, issue escalation, and process monitoring.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
- Lead or support troubleshooting of process, quality, and equipment-related issues impacting production performance.
- Participate in and help drive structured root cause investigations for recurring or major abnormalities.
- Support implementation, validation, and sustainment of corrective and preventive actions.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify and support opportunities to reduce process waste, variation, scrap, downtime, and inefficiencies.
- Support and help drive Lean manufacturing initiatives including:
- 5S
- standard work
- visual management
- process discipline
- waste reduction
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and floor-level process optimization efforts.
- Training & Standardization
- Develop, revise, and maintain work instructions, process standards, and technical operating procedures.
- Provide floor-level training and coaching to technicians, operators, and production support teams on process-related expectations and best practices.
- Reinforce adherence to standard work and proper process execution.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, review, and analyze process, quality, downtime, scrap, and defect data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Support process reporting and provide actionable technical feedback to leadership and engineering teams.
- Aid in process performance tracking and implementation follow-up.
- Engineering & Cross-Functional Support
- Work closely with Production, Equipment, Quality, Safety, and Engineering teams to support process changes, trials, validations, and technical initiatives.
- Support implementation of new process controls, equipment changes, or operational improvements.
- Serve as a technical floor resource during abnormal conditions, startup, changeover, and process adjustments.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all process activities are performed in accordance with company safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Support a clean, organized, and compliant work environment aligned with 5S and EHS expectations.
Additional Duties
- Perform other duties, technical assignments, and improvement projects as assigned by management.
Who You Are
- Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles, including:
- 5S
- standard work
- visual management
- waste elimination
- Foundational understanding of Six Sigma / variation reduction concepts
- Ability to support or drive root cause analysis
- Ability to influence floor execution through technical knowledge and standardization
- Ability to balance floor urgency with long-term process improvement
- Ability to work as a technical bridge between operations and engineering
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related technical/engineering field preferred.
- Experience using AutoCAD and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- 4–6+ years of manufacturing, process support, industrial operations, or technical production experience preferred.
- Previous experience in solar module, semiconductor, battery, automation, or other high-volume manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in manufacturing processes and/or equipment-related systems.
- Ability to interpret technical issues, process trends, and operational abnormalities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, shift-based manufacturing environment.
