Process Server (Hamilton County, TN)

ProVest LLC, a national legal support services firm with 30 years of experience and offices in 12 locations, is seeking a 1099 contract Private Process Server to handle civil process service in Hamilton County, TN. Candidates must live in or currently serve within 45 miles of the county. Preferred candidates include private investigators, process servers, and law enforcement agents.

About the role

This contract position involves serving legal documents such as foreclosure and collection proceedings, insurance litigation, and civil complaints. Pay is based on jobs completed weekly.

Responsibilities

• Attempt all assigned cases at a minimum every 72 hours.
• Activate all cases within 24 hours of receiving documents via FedEx or email.
• Make weekend attempts on all assigned files.
• Submit the original civil warrant to the clerk’s office and scan the stamped copy to ProVest within 72 hours of the service date.
• Complete and scan worksheets for completed cases within 24 hours of service (scanner or scanner app required).
• Use ProVest’s mobile apps to capture photos of addresses, log detailed attempt notes, and record serve/non-serve statuses.
• Perform due diligence with up to 5 attempts for collection cases (before 9 am, after 6 pm, Saturday, and additional morning/evening attempts).
• Perform due diligence with up to 3 attempts for medical cases (before 9 am, after 6 pm, and Saturday).

Requirements

• Must reside within or currently serve within 45 miles of Hamilton County, TN.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
• Access to a scanner or scanner app.

Pay

• $30.00 per defendant for collections.
• $30.00 per defendant for medical cases.

Paid weekly.
