Process Operator - Crew B
About the role
This position is responsible for the efficient operation, performance, and safety of various processing equipment. Communication with the QA lab and Team Leaders is required. This position rotates through four different areas (Peeler, Batter, Cutter, and Fryer) to distribute workload.
Responsibilities
- Operate all pertinent equipment (Peelers to preheaters)
- Carry the radio for the processing end
- Change out knives on the cutter deck
- Maintain quality control
- Monitor waste streams, shorts, and slivers
- Adjust welliver sizers and pulp temperatures
- Enter information into computer system
- Monitor blancher, dryer, and fryer operations
- Operate the blancher and fryer
- Load batter, sucrose, and SAPP
- Mix batter and ingredients
- Measure viscosity and ensure accuracy of batter tickets
- Understand and adjust water loops in the batter system
- Perform daily safety huddles and direction setting meetings
- Fix equipment defects and follow safety guidelines
- Sign off on cleanup paperwork
- Attend safety huddles and review and response meetings
- Train newer employees as directed
Qualifications
- Effective communication and understanding of both verbal and written instructions
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Able to lift 50 pounds
Skills
An understanding of state-of-the-art processing equipment and its controls is essential. Troubleshooting skills and continuous improvement are also required.

Pay
The pay rate for this role is approximately $24.85 per hour.
Schedule
Shift work with rotating shifts every four days, including weekends.
