Process Operator

About the Role

This position is in the Ore Processing department at the Round Mountain mine, an open-pit mine in Nevada. The role involves training across various levels of the department, aligning daily functions with Kinross’ values, and working in the Mill, Crusher, or ADR plant areas based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform general clean-up and labor duties in Ore Processing facilities.
• Operate small front-end loaders, forklifts, skid steer loaders, and dozers as required.
• Lift and carry equipment and materials up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the workday.
• Learn assigned areas, which may include:
  • Filling out system check sheets and monitoring reagent levels.
  • Assisting in all areas of the facility.
  • Pad layout and drip line installation on Leach Pads.
  • Operating Crushing, Milling, and ADR facilities.
• Work safely to avoid risk or harm to self and others.
• Perform other related functions as assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to walk up, down, and over rough terrain, climb stairways, catwalks, liners, and pads.
• Ability to shovel material and lift/carry up to 50 lbs. frequently throughout the day.
• Ability to work at heights and in adverse weather conditions.
• Willingness to train on other equipment.
• Previous experience operating small front-end loaders, dozers, or lifting equipment is preferred.
• Previous operator or labor experience is preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• General understanding of mining operations, including leaching, crushing, milling, and maintenance.
• Basic computer and technology skills.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Punctuality and regular attendance required.
• Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Valid driver’s license required.
