Process Operator, 3rd Shift CFR

Full-time, on-site position in West Springfield, MA.

About the role

Cabot Creamery, a B Corp-certified dairy cooperative since 2012, is seeking a Machine Operator for our dryer operation (includes dryer, evaporator, and RO) on the 3rd shift (11 PM – 7 AM). This role ensures proper pasteurization of products in compliance with state and federal regulations, adheres to precise quality standards for cream, skim, and condensed products, and operates related equipment such as the RO system, evaporator, and dryer. Cross-training will be provided to support business needs.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor dryer, evaporator, and RO systems to ensure proper pasteurization and product quality.
• Comply with state and federal regulations for dairy processing.
• Maintain precise quality standards for cream, skim, and condensed products.
• Understand and manage the separation of milk and related equipment.
• Engage in cross-training to support operational flexibility.

Schedule

• 3rd shift: 11 PM – 7 AM.
• Overtime, weekend, holiday, and shift rotation may be required and, at times, mandatory.
• Schedule flexibility is expected to meet business needs.

Pay

• Starting wage: $29.29/hour, plus a 10% shift differential.
• Pay range: $29.29 – $31.14/hour.
• Eligibility for wage increases every 6 months during the first 24 months of employment.
