About the role
This is a hands-on role supporting both development projects and production, defining manufacturing methods, quoting components, and working directly with production from prototype through release.
Responsibilities
- Determine manufacturing methods, planning and sequencing, fixturing, raw materials, and inspection methods; define work performed by outside vendors.
- Provide detailed quotes for precision-machined components.
- Take a hands-on role in the manufacturing process of development projects alongside production.
- Provide process engineering support to production, ensuring accurate and detailed manufacturing process instructions and feedback.
- Apply job standards to Engineering master routings for shop work; input routing data into the database to calculate operation times and document detailed procedures for each manufacturing operation.
- Use CAD (NX) software to sketch blueprints, operation sheets, and set-up sheets for internal and outside vendors; develop fixtures and processes.
- Program NC toolpaths using Mastercam or Unigraphics.
- Multi-task across concurrent development and production support priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, OR 5+ years of related experience/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with GD&T, technical drawings, and NC programming using Mastercam or Unigraphics.
- Broad knowledge of machine tools and their capabilities for properly routing precision components.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to inquiries from employees, regulatory agencies, and the business community.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience programming CNC VTL & milling machines, including set-up and first-part runs to release development to production; tool room experience.
- Experience using PPAP to evaluate incoming jobs.

Pay
$90,000 – $130,000 per year
