About the role

GSK is a global biopharma company focused on preventing and treating diseases through innovative specialty medicines and vaccines. This role is part of the manufacturing team at GSK’s Zebulon site, which supplies respiratory and solid dose medicines globally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily production activities to ensure safe, high-quality products.
  • Coordinate people, equipment, and schedules on the shop floor.
  • Mentor team members, assistants, and technicians to ensure timely and compliant task completion.
  • Monitor and manage line-side performance, identify and implement corrective actions, and escalate issues affecting product quality, safety, and line performance.
  • Lead and utilize GSK Production System standards to achieve Zero Accidents, Zero Defects, and Zero Waste.
  • Proactively solve higher-level deviations, conduct 5S and OSW, and participate in area CIF.
  • Deliver against safety, quality, waste, and performance objectives aligned with strategy.
  • Identify and lead process improvements or alternative operating methods to enhance safety, quality, and equipment efficiency.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on operations and SAP for process troubleshooting.
  • Provide support to supervisors for safety and quality inspections, SOP and Standard Work reviews, and 5S confirmations.
  • Manage quality performance by generating quality deviations, leading investigations, reviewing batch documentation, providing OJT training, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Use production systems and software to record data, monitor performance, and identify trends.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a process, technical, or production operator role in manufacturing.
  • Experience leading people or shifts on a production floor.
  • Experience running investigations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of standard operating procedures, batch documentation, and safety practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-year associate degree or equivalent education/experience in applicable field of study.
  • Comfortable using production systems and common software tools to record data and monitor performance.
  • Elevated level of knowledge on product portfolio and manufacturing process.
  • Ability to challenge production planning and organization as needed.
  • Excellent knowledge of written and oral English and French.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office) for data analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Competent at problem-solving using a 6-step process to identify root causes.

Physical Job Requirements

  • Ability to climb, kneel, stoop, balance, crawl, crouch, reach, sit, stand, walk, push, pull, grasp, talk, hear, lift up to 40 lbs., and perform tasks as defined by the specific role.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to wear protective equipment as required by the specific job role.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, and various drug compounds.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new tasks and environments.
  • Ability to work up to 12.5 hours in one shift.
