Job Summary
Under the direction of the Process Engineering Manager, the Process Engineering Supervisor supports the department by overseeing and driving daily operations. The role involves leading and supporting Process Engineers, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing action plans.
Supervision & Leadership
- Coordinate daily activities of the Process Engineering team.
- Assign work tasks to support key organizational initiatives and goals.
- Train, mentor, and develop Process Engineers.
- Aid in the facilitation of career path development for reports.
- Monitor KPIs like OEE and scrap rates.
- Support production through leveraging strengths of direct reports.
- Encourage and support reports to seek training opportunities.
Process Improvement & Documentation
- Apply Plan, Do, Check, Act methodology for process improvement.
- Identify and implement technical solutions for manufacturing.
- Develop and update standard Work Instructions (WI) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Track and report KPIs through weekly standup meetings.
- Record process-related events and changes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with Manufacturing, Quality, Project Management, Maintenance, and Automation teams.
- Coach and mentor Process Engineers on lean methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
- Drive training efforts and adherence to standard work procedures.
Other Functions
- Participate in strategic planning activities.
- Research and recommend improvements in new manufacturing technologies.
- Communicate openly with the Process Engineering Manager.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Applied Science, Apprenticeship, or 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Scientific molding background through training such as RJG, Routsis, or Paulson.
- Leadership training or demonstrated leadership proficiency.
- Proficiency in MS Office, company databases, ERP systems, and RJG Hub software.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work non-standard hours and travel.
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and adequate insurance.
