Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on activities including prototype assembly, test execution, tooling setup, and direct production support to validate and refine manufacturing processes
- Support and execute manufacturing process development from prototype through full production implementation, ensuring alignment to design intent, quality standards, and production requirements
- Perform testing, validation, and data analysis activities to assess manufacturability, performance, and process capability, driving resolution of identified issues
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance across manufacturing operations
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and support functions to identify and implement design and process improvements that enable efficient and repeatable builds
- Maintain regular presence in production and prototype environments to support builds, troubleshoot issues, and validate process performance
- Support tooling, equipment, and work instruction development to ensure readiness for production execution and sustained operational performance
- Maintain accurate process documentation and technical records to support configuration control, knowledge transfer, and operational continuity
- Provide technical guidance and support to production teams to ensure proper execution of processes and adherence to standards
- Apply increasing levels of independent judgment, problem-solving, and technical leadership based on experience and career level, including leading portions of work scope and influencing outcomes at higher levels
- Executes hands-on work and troubleshooting process development and support activities with limited guidance
- Contributes to problem-solving and improvement efforts within defined scope areas
Qualifications
- 2-year associate's degree in Aerospace, Manufacturing, A&P, Industrial or Machine Technology degrees preferred, or license or equivalent combination experience
- Minimum 2 years direct industry experience
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a technician or technical support role
- Hands-on experience with tools and equipment used in prototype development and manufacturing processes
- Basic understanding of mechanical principles, materials properties, and manufacturing techniques
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly and concisely
- Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software is a plus
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
